Speakers on both sides project crystal-clear sound 360°
Now, wherever your Nokia XpressMusic mobile phone goes, great sound goes too. The new n?bi is a
compact, lightweight speaker system that lets you play music on your mobile phone out loud.
With surprisingly good sound. Anytime. Anywhere. Stash the n?bi in a bag or pocket. Its full-bodied
sound will make you wonder where the speakers are. And its long battery life means you can listen deep
into your playlist. So forget about your headphones. Plug in the n?bi, crank up the music, and be amazed.

The Altec Lansing n?bi is small, light weight, takes 3 x AAA batteries, and uses your standard 3.5mm connecter.
Other than using a name like n?bi rather than normal nobi, there's nothing more to this but a small portable speaker.
Although they say it is made for Nokia XpressMusic phones, that won't stop you from using it on your everyday MP3 players or any device with a 3.5mm output.
The cable is nicely wrapped around the base when not in use, and the base is where you slide out to put in and take out batteries.
Being a portable speaker, it needs to last a long time as you never know when you might need a louder output, and this little grill does the job. Having it run all day and night with varying volumes, it easily plays more than 18 hours.
The output of the n?bi is quite loud and dependant on the device it is connected to. For example, a PC will have a higher maximum volume than an MP3 player.
Although it can bring out a good volume for a small crowd to hear, any louder and it will start crackling. Because there is no volume control on the n?bi itself, you better make sure the source device is initially toned down before connecting or you're going to have some painful ears.
But when you're not on too loud a volume and it is at a tangible level, the treble is very crisp and it provides more tap than a mobile speaker device. By taps, I mean you can hear the bass, but it isn't strong, nor deep. More like those beats are struck on a slightly higher pitch, but well played.
Although for a mobile speaker device, this sort of quality is quite good, it has some missing notes. They're not literally missing, but they aren't very audible; very soft.
So some of my music felt slightly empty at times.
Overall, if you're looking for a nice portable speaker so that you can share with your friends, the Altec Lansing n?bi does the job for some easy listening music. Because of its double face design also, it doesn't matter where you are, it provides a 360° radius of leisurable sound.
