The Altec Lansing BXR1121 is a small 2.1 speaker system perfect for anyone needing a bit of quality without taking up too much space.
The right satellite has your volume, bass, treble, headphone, and AUX, providing easy access to what you need. Delivering a great level of volume whilst maintaining clear sound is a plus. The headphones provide easy port access so you can listen privately, and if you want to connect your MP3 player to the speaker, the AUX is readily available.
The BXR1121 also comes with a small cradle for you to sit your MP3 device on when you want to use the speakers with it.
The right satellite is the central control for the system, aside from power going into the subwoofer, everything else revolves around that right speaker.

One problem I had was that the satellites were very light. If your cords are in a tangle, it isn't easy to position them as they are easily thrown around. Also, the control knobs were stiff to an extent that I had to hold the speaker as I turned them, otherwise the speaker tumble around.
The subwoofer is quite light so it is easy to move around.

Running the speakers across a range of music from deep bass to strong bass, high sounds and delicate sounds, clarity is superb but quality is above average.
The bass was strong, relatively loud, and clean. However, at the same time, it was weak and had little depth. Turning the bass up brought some depth, but it was still fairly week. It only shook the ground when you turned the volume up high, but the fact that there was no depth didn't bring a lot of feeling through it. The treble wasn't high pitch but moderate pitch, so it was good to listen to, but missed some minor highs. Turning the treble up to make the had almost no affect, but turning it down does make it deeper.
While watching movies like the Matrix, during explosions and gunshots, it didn't roar. Although the sound was well produced with very high fidelity, it doesn't shake the earth. Just loud.
I then turned up America's Army and there's not really much I can say. If you're looking for a gaming speaker, this set is only sub par.
Sound is sound no matter what you do with it, and being only a loud speaker with little roar, games only sound so good before you start missing the heart pounding booms of deeper systems.

Overall, the Altec Lansing BXR1121 is for people who like to give some thump to their PC and fill the atmosphere with some leisurable music. But if you're more heavy on sound, there are better 2.1 systems out there that provide much more. Other than that, I really loved the size of the subwoofer; add a cushion and it's the perfect foot stand.
