Yesterday we went down to Torquay to play at the beach as a YSA event for Australia Day.
We weren't at the surf coast, probably because we'd have more room on the side beach, but we still enjoyed ourselves even with lack of waves.
And of course, me not bothered to wear sunscreen, my face is a little sunburnt, and my upper back and shoulders are sunburnt, once again.
Nonetheless, bit of BBQ, some sports, splashing around, and mucking around, it was a nice and relaxing day, even with strong winds giving us a little chill.
We arrived a little past lunch time but all was well as there was still plenty of fresh sausage and bread to eat.

There was a sand castle competition, but I don't think many were bothered, and in the end made other things from the sand.
Though one group did make a castle.

I thought they would put water around the castle also but they didn't, and dug a hole through the castle instead to crawl under for some fun.

Some of the other sand sculptures made was a mermaid, buggy, dolphin, and our planet earth.

We ended up breaking down the castle and buried someone in it, legs only, and they had to try and get out.

For some fun, we had an iron man competition. Because not many were very good swimmers, so we didn't do any swimming, but instead ran into the water and back. They had to run to the cones on the other end, into the water, come out and do crab crawling back to cones, 10 push ups, then run back for the finish.

The only two sports I played that day was a bit of cricket and soccer. I didn't play touch, just splashed around the rest of the day.

When we all finished, we went down for some fish and chips before heading home.

All in all, it was a fun day whilst relaxing at the same time, and it was a different scenary than just going out doing nothing; maybe I should have put sunscreen on.
