On the 3rd July 2010, we held our Tri-Stake Basketball Tournament once again. This year was filled with many more thrills and excitement with its fair share of tears.
Unfortunately, I can't comment on how the young women did as I mainly watched the young mens.
I mostly watched the juniors aged 12-14 play first to take photos and support my youth before filming the finals of the senior team. Though the juniors did very well this year, they did not make it into the finals. Our seniors, aged 15-17, did make it to the finals though.
We arrived at the Coburg Basketball Stadium early so my youth wanted to run around on the playground a little. Tyson tried to fit through a small doorway and got a little stuck.
When people started arriving and it was nearing time to begin, we went back in to warm up and get ready.
Our youth were able to win 2 of their matches, playing their defenses really well and putting down the shots. Unfortunately, what stopped them from entering the finals was the 2 loses we had due to the shier size of the opponents on the other team; litterally almost twice the size of most of our guys.
Our senior team did however win all their matches and make it into the finals. Much like last year, it was our stake, Wyndham, against Deer Park, again. The exact same close match with both sides cheering on.
I don't have the videos uploaded at the moment but will update this page once I have.
Other than that, last year we won by a point thanks to a free throw. This year, we lost by a dunk (2 points).
Fun part though is that this year, they didn't have any trophies to hand out. Last year they did, so we still have our victorious trophy on display.
