Saturday afternoon to evening was all fun and games at the Footscray 1st Ward Christmas Party.
We had our feast, caroling, Santa, and a couple of games to finish off the night.
A few of my friends came along which was great to see but I had forgotten to invite more; I just wasn't thinking straight with all the running around I've been doing and also the youth Christmas party which we will be having this Tuesday to finish off the youth program for this year, and resume February next year.
So of course, we had a feast filled with chicken, looks to be a favourite here, before we sat down for some caroling.

Unfortunately, Christmas carols didn't go too well as nobody really knew the words, and even if they did, felt embarrassed to sing because they'd be the only ones. It was unfortunate, but we'll remember to hand out lyrics next time, I presume.
A special guest, Santa, also arrived to give the children all a little gift; a bag of lollies really.
It was a great laugh as it was our New Zealand friend Brent, and seeing an Islander Santa was just new for us, and a sight out of the ordinary.

Special treat from the missionaries, we had them sing a carol also.

We played two games, On the Boat, off the Boat, and Fruit Salad.
In on the boat, off the boat, it's a lot like simon says. Someone will call 3 positions, on, off, or in the boat, and you will move to that position. The goal is to catch them out making a wrong move, or, if they step out when they shouldn't have, even if they are already in the position; you had to stand still, unless you had to move.

We then played fruit salad where there's no winner or loser, it's only one person in the middle calling out a fruit, or fruit salad for everyone to get up and find a new seat. Eventually, one of the sisters wanted to make it more competitive. The last one to find a chair would go out, and we'd remove a chair, with the person who snatched the last chair being in the middle.

It eventually got to the point where there were only 3 people, and the person in the middle was the decider of who he wanted to eliminate. It was a good laugh to see him try and make a decision.
Then at 2 people left for the final winner, we had them race to the one seat.
The night finished well and everyone had a good time. The caroling was a little iffy since hardly anyone knew the words to the carols, but we'll be sure to fix that next year.
