Its been great being able to hang out with the missionaries and have them for a meal. Sometimes its the simple things like this that just matter in life.
The first of our feasts was at a Japanese restaurant in the Chinatown called Kimurakan Japanese Cafe with all of the missionaries from our church ward on the September 25th.
Each missionary companionship would pick a dish each, making four in total. Unfortunately I cannot remember the names of the dishes but we had a beef stew, two different fries of chicken, and eel.

The food was great and in terms of quality, the price was worth it. In terms of quantity, I personally would look elsewhere. But nevertheless, we had our fun and enjoyed the night. It was a great chance to feed the missionaries, to know the missionaries a little more, and to have an enjoyable night out.

On the October 16th, it was a missionaries birthday and he shouted us out for dinner.
We all gathered at the State Library before heading off to Ants Bistro in Chinatown.

We arrived at Ants Bistro, gathered our seats, and started ordering. I have no idea what any of the dishes were called unfortuantely though, but there was one which was some kind of crispy fried skin whicih I liked most of all. We had a variety of fish, chicken, beef, dumplings, noodles, and rice.

You will have noticed some drawings here and there, which half of us were doing while we were waiting for the food.
After the feast, the missionary gave his little speech of gratitude, and we had some cakes.

It actually took him a while to blow out the candle on the cake with strawberries. It was a laugh to see him struggle, but unfortunate I couldn't get a picture of it on time.
It was a great night and we all apreciate him on hosting the dinner for us, especially being a missionary. He's a year older now and still up to a year to go in serving here in Melbourne and we wish him all the best of luck.
On the October 18th, we had a wedding party for those who are unable to attend wedding of Kyle and Han in Salt Lake City. Fortunately I'll be there, but we all did our parts and had our fun at this party.
We came in the night before to start setting up the tables and brought in all the food and began seting up in the morning before everyone arrived. It was great to see the amount of support for Kyle and Han had with the number of people who turned up and the amount of food brought.

We liked the final setting and it provided everyone enough room to sit around.

Here you can see the Mormon Housewives, pun off Desperate Housewives.

A lot of food was brought in by various people, ranging from simple muffins, to more delicate cakes, to munchies like sandwiches, and dishes like chicken, noodles, rice, prawns, etc. We almost didn't have enough room for everything but managed to squeeze into every nook and cranny.

It was a great feast with everyone enjoying all the kinds of food. And it isn't a party unless we muck around a bit. Celebrating with passing friends that we may not be able to see again or for a very long time is something worth cherishing and it doesn't hurt to do anything simple.

The sad part of it all was I was mostly going around taking photos of everyone, a lot of them not up here, so I ended up only having a muffin, few spring rolls, and some fruit. Very filling day indeed; no really, it was.
